Quality, passwords and signatures
Selected pages are copied into a new PDF, so normal text and scan quality are not deliberately reduced. Password-protected or damaged files may not open. Rewriting a digitally signed PDF can invalidate its signature even when the visible page looks unchanged; use the original signed document when signature validation matters.
Processing happens in the current browser tab rather than through an upload-and-return workflow. For confidential workplace records, follow the security policy set by your employer or client.
How to split a PDF without sharing unnecessary pages
A PDF often contains more information than the receiver asked for. An annual statement may be fifty pages long when an office needs only the latest three pages. A scanned agreement may include blank sheets, or a college file may combine several certificates in one document. Extracting the relevant pages keeps the attachment smaller and makes it easier for the receiver to review.
The page-range box follows the PDF's visible page order. Enter 1-3 for the first three pages, 2,6,9 for individual pages, or combine both styles as 1-3,7,10-12. Reversed ranges are corrected automatically, but it is still worth checking the output before sending it.

If page thumbnails do not appear
Some browsers block the separate preview component even though the core PDF reader can open the document. The tool now treats preview as optional: when the file name and page count appear, you can enter a range and create the output even if thumbnails are unavailable. A password-protected, damaged or incomplete PDF still needs to be opened and saved again with the correct password before splitting.
Checks worth making before you send the result
- Open the downloaded PDF and confirm the first and last selected pages.
- Check printed page numbers as well as the PDF viewer's page count; they may not match.
- Keep the original document until the receiver accepts the extracted copy.
- Do not remove context that is required to understand a statement, invoice or agreement.
- For a digitally signed PDF, use the original when signature validation matters because creating a new file can invalidate the signature.
What happens to the file in the browser?
The page-selection operation is performed by JavaScript running in the current browser tab. The site itself does not use an upload endpoint for this split operation. The webpage still loads normal website services such as analytics, advertising and the scripts required to run the tool; details are available in the Privacy Policy. If an employer or client has a document-handling policy, follow that policy for confidential records.
Will text remain selectable?
The splitter copies PDF pages instead of deliberately converting them to screenshots. Most ordinary text, images and vectors remain as they were, although complex forms, bookmarks and signatures can behave differently after the file is rewritten.
Can I change the page order?
This splitter keeps selected pages in numerical order. Use the PDF Page Organizer when you need to reorder or rotate pages.
Why is a large PDF slow?
Previews and page copying use device memory. For a long scanned file, close unused tabs or use a laptop or desktop with more available memory.
